What is the Uptownleather's delivery policy?
Our program is easy...We pay the shipping on your purchase as long as you live in the continental United States. Please contact us for special low rates to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Depending on the item you have purchased, we will ship your order by either UPS, FedEx, a freight company or our In-Home Delivery Service. Please see our FAQ'S area for estimated delivery times. All delivery times are estimates and are not guarranteed. Do you ship to Canada? We offer nationwide, professional in home delivery to most of Canada. Free delivery is available in many areas.
At Uptownleather.com the safe and efficient transportation of you furniture is one of our highest concerns. On many items, such as our upholstered furniture or non dropshippable case goods we offer an In-Home Delivery Service. Some items like Iron beds for example are not delivered by an In-Home Service. Unlike many other companies our In-Home Deliveries are never put through the rigors of shipment through multiple freight terminals or shipments by other companies before your order arrives at your home. As soon as your furniture arrives at our delivery facility it will be inspected and scheduled for delivery. The delivery service will then contact you to arrange your delivery appointment. Be sure to have someone home to receive your delivery during the time window the delivery service has arranged with you so that you will not incur any additional charges. Upon arrival at your home our crew will unload your furniture. They will then remove all packaging materials and place the furniture in the area of choice in your home. Due to regulations the delivery service cannot take packaging materials with them.
For items that arrive by UPS, FedEx or a freight company please inspect the cartons and their contents. Please note any damage to the carton even minor damage to the carton. This is very important. (Be extra careful not to damage your furniture!) Our products are packaged in such a manner that they will arrive at your home in almost all cases without damage. In rare occasions, shipping damage may occur. Please see our FAQ'S area for information on the unlikely event that your furniture has a defect or damage, our damage rate is less than 1%.
Free Shipping Exceptions: 99% of the items sold on Uptownleather.com are shipped free of charge, however there are a few exceptions. This exception will arise, for example if you were to purchase a smaller item that is normally sold as part of a group such as a nightstand by itself, or a few dining room chairs purchased alone from a dining room collection. These items must be delivered by an in home delivery service. In these cases our customer service department will contact you and advise you that your order will require a delivery fee, even if you have placed your order online and the fee was not charged. We will do our best to keep this fee as reasonable as possible. Occasionally an item may require special handling or special circumstance may apply requiring a delivery charge. For example this situation can arise with the shipment of an oversized rug or an oversized mirror. We will also give you the option of a full refund. There may also be circumstances where our delivery vehicle cannot gain access to your home due to a narrow road, a long windng driveway or a gated community, or other similar circumstances. In these cases addtional charges would apply. In some cases we may have to deliver your furniture to another nearby location of your choice if we cannot gain access to your home. In this case addtional charges may apply as well. If delivery to your home is not possible due to the special circumsatnces of your location you may ask for a refund under the terms of our refund policy as stipulated in our FAQ's area.
Delivery Exceptions
Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii, other islands, parts of Canada and other remote areas and deliveries involving special circumstances such as hoisting, if available, may significantly add to our estimated delivery times. Delivery appointments that cannot be kept will result in your furniture being retuned to one of the delivery service warehouses, may result in additional charges and will significantly add to your expected delivery time. In some cases an appointment cannot be kept due to equipment failure, storms, driver illness or special circumstances. In some cases the timing of the arrival of your furniture may affect and add to your delivery time as the arrival may have just missed the delivery truck to your area. Manufacturing delays, acts of God and Homeland Security issues may also result in a significant extension of your expected delivery times. Deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, other Islands, Canada and other remote areas as well as deliveries requiring special circumstances such as hoisting, walk ups above the second floor, special trucks and equipment and redeliveries due to circumstances such as a missed appointment will result in additional charges. We will do our best to keep any additional charges to a minimum.
We will provide you with a tentative delivery date at the time of purchase if requested. Please be aware that manufacturers do not guaranty this delivery date. The delivery date is an approximate date only. Due to the unpredictable nature of the transportation industry, once your order has shipped, the arrival of your order at the delivery service provided through vehicle tracking systems is estimated and no way guarantees the actual arrival of your order at the delivery service. We have had instances in the past when an order has arrived as much as 5 days earlier than expected and as much as three weeks late. On rare occasions, an item may be damaged during shipment. The item will then be repaired or replaced which may also delay the delivery. |
